Black and Cream Stripe Racerback Maxi - M6744 B

I made this in mid-March while it was still rather chill here in the South. I hate the winter and was so ready for spring, but it just seemed like it Old Man Winter just wouldn't leave. So I started sewing spring/summer clothing in the hopes urge Mother Nature along via positive thinking. Well I think it worked not to long after warm weather made an appearance.Who doesn't love a maxi dress, especially in the spring and summer?! Plus they transition well into autumn paired with a denim jacket or knit cardigan. I had picked up this black and cream striped jersey at my local Hancock Fabrics. Two yards was just sitting there on the flat fold sale table. I love stripes and I love anything black and white, so I had to have it. I mean I have plenty of B&W striped knits but not gradient like pattern. When I bought it I knew it would be a maxi dress, but it wasn't until I got home and scrolled  through my pinterest "Patterns I Own" board that I selected M6744. I bought this dress pattern late last season and never got around to sewing it.I love the pattern as it was really simple and sews up quickly. I chose View B which was just 4 pieces all cut on the fold and no neck or arm bands. The only drawback was the elastic casing, only because I hate sewing them. Not the casing themselves, but sewing the finished casing to the bodice. I can never keep the stitch straight, so instead I skip that step.I think the dress came out great! I was planning to wear it belted and I will sometimes (to add some color most likely), but I like it unbelted as well. This is definitely a go to pattern. I've already completed View A and View D, as well. Those posts will be coming soon.Pattern Description: Pullover dresses have bodice variations, elasticized (seamed) waist, and narrow hem. A and B: fitted bodice. C and D: mock wrap, very loose-fitting bodice with elasticized shoulders.Sizing: XS-M, L-XXL ( I cut a Smedium-halfway between the small and medium)Difficulty: 1/EasyFabric Used: Cream and Black Gradient Striped Jersey from Hancock FabricsDoes it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? YesWere the instructions easy to follow? I didn't actually follow them. All you need to do is sew the shoulders, the front sides, the skirt sides, attach the bodice to the skirt, create a casing, thread the elastic and hem the armholes, neck hole and skirt.Likes: I love that it was just 4 pieces and that everything was cut on the fold. Also that you have both the tank back and racerback options.Dislikes: The elastic casing.Pattern alterations or any design changes made: In the past I haven't been able to keep my seam straight when attaching the finished casing to the bodice so I omitted it.Would I sew it again? I already have! Keep a look out for more post soon.Would I recommend it to others? Yes!!!Conclusion: I love this pattern.
