Made by a Fabricista: Butterick 6385

I think I’ve decided I need to make one wool winter coat a year. Last year was the Closet Case Clare Coat and this year is this Butterick 6385. Read my contributor post at Fabric Mart here!

Pattern: Butterick 6385

Pattern Description:Fitted coats have princess seams, back yoke with forward shoulder seams, two-piece sleeve, collar and pocket variations. A: Round collar. B:Pointed collar. C: Funnel neck.

Sizing: 6-14, 14-22 I sewed a 20

Difficulty: 2/easy

Fabric Used: Emerald Green Melton Wool from Fabric Mart

Does it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

Likes:  Funnel collar, princess seams, length, cup sizes

Dislikes: None

Pattern alterations or any design changes made: None

Would I sew it again? Probably not because I have so  many coat patterns I stilll want to sew.

Would I recommend it to others? Definitely, great coat for a beginner.

  1. […] color of my latest wool coat (B6385) is what makes it stand out to me. Well… that and the fact it was my last sew of 2018. […]
