Checkerboard Cape: McCalls 7477

I have been meaning to sew up McCalls 7477 for the past few winters. After sewing New Look 6324 back in 2016 I realized I love capes and wanted a couple more. This checkerboard wool from Fabric Mart was just the neutral I was looking for to wear with everything! Read more on my Fabricista post and scroll down for my pattern review.

Does it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very, a good project for a beginner.

Likes: It’s a cape, it’s belted, stand collar

Dislikes: none

Pattern alterations or any design changes made: I hand stitched the hem of the lining to the cape instead of bagging the lining.

Would I sew it again? Maybe I think I’d like the hooded view.

Would I recommend it to others? Yes!

Conclusion: Great cape, quick sew, perfect for fall weather
