Flirty Floral Circle Skirt - Mimi G
I LOVE circle skirts and apparently so do plenty of other ladies as they seemed to be so popular this summer. So I was pleased to find out they were so simple to make. There are plenty of blog tutorials and youtube videos on how to create a circle skirt. I followed Mimi G's because, of course, I love her! She takes out some of the "complicated" math for those who never liked math. I love math but I'm aware I'm an abnormality so I'm sure many appreciate her simplified calculation. I highly recommend you check out her free tutorial where she sews along with you so you can watch her do each step. Even if you don't like circle skirts watch the tutorial for her excellent instructions on how to install an invisible zipper with a regular zipper foot. This was the first garment I used bias tape on. I was so afraid of bias tape for some reason, I think I was just concerned about keeping a straight stitch in the crease of the tape. Anyway, after I read up on how tricky sewing a curved hem could be and failing miserably at even pinning the hem I decided bias tape couldn't be any harder. Turns out it was actually very simple, my hem turned out beautifully.MIMI G CIRCLE SKIRT PATTERN REVIEWPattern Description: Circle skirt with narrow waistband and invisible zipperPattern Sizing: Draft the pattern according to your own measurements and desired length to fit any sizeDifficulty: 2/BeginnerFabric Used: Floral print rayon challis (I think).
