Hi-Lo Peplum Cardigan - McCall6844
This pattern almost needs no introduction. McCalls 6844 has 84 reviews on PatternReview.com! Both MimiG and Crafty Gemini have done tutorials on it. Needles and Fashion even modified it to a coat dress. I loved this pattern so much I made it twice before I could even get this post up! I almost didn’t even post this because it is completely unnecessary. However this blog is really for me so I'm sharing.
I completed the solid black version first as I had some black ponte in my stash because who couldn't use another black cardigan. I followed Mimi G's construction order that allowed me to sew the sleeves in flat. The only change I made was adding some clear elastic to the shoulder seams for stability, though I don't think this ponte needed it.I had drooled over this black and white polka dot ponte at Hancock Fabrics but wasn't sure what I'd do with it. And at $19.99 regular price and only 52" wide I couldn't buy it with out a project in mind. So after the black version came out so nicely I knew I wanted to make another one with the polka dot ponte. While I was at it I made a pencil skirt too! The review on that will come later this week.
