Leopard Wrap Bodice Dress - B5950

wpid-20150228_170221.jpgI have wanted to make this dress ever since I saw Mimi G's version on her blog. This was heightened when I saw it also had a ton of great reviews on Pattern Review. However I was too late the the game and could not find this out-of-print pattern anywhere. Thankfully a sew sistas from one of the Facebook sewing groups I belong to had this pattern and lovingly sent it to me at no charge. Man I love my sew sistas!Once it arrived I couldn't wait to whip it up. Initially I'd planned to use a solid due to the pleating and bias bodice piece, but then I remembered that I had this leopard ITY knit. I'd bought some time back with no particular project in mind and decided it would work great for this project.wpid-20150228_170247.jpgPattern: Butterick 5950 (OOP) View CPattern Description: Close-fitting dress has neckline and pleat variations, elasticized (seamed) waist, and invisible back zipper. A&B:drape neck and side bodice pleats C:bias front wrap bodice.Sizing: I cut a 12 bodice/ 14 skirt. B5(8-10-12-14-16), F5(16-18-20-22-24)Difficulty:  2Fabric Used: Leopard print ITY from a local storeDoes it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? YesWere the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were straightforward.Likes: wrapped bodiceDislikes: None really, it was a little shortwaisted for me.Pattern alterations or any design changes made: I omitted the zipper because I used a stretch ITY knit. Next time I will likely add an inch to the bodice and subtract an inch from the skirt to lower the waist. I also added a lining to the bodice and skirt because I was concerned my ITY was thin.Would I sew it again? Definitely. I want to try View A.Would I recommend it to others? Yes although this pattern is out-of-printConclusion: Very easy and quick dress to sew up (especially if your fabric is stretchy enough to omit the zipper)Total Cost: $7.982 yds Leopard ITY  @ 3.99/yd = $7.98
