Blue Date Night Dress - Vogue 8825

I loved this dress from the minute I saw it on Mimi G's blog last year. It looked difficult to my novice eyes so I did some research on pattern review.  I actually fell even deeper in love with this pattern while taking in others renditions of the dress. Most of the reviewers had positive feedback though many said the back collar was not clearly explained. I decided to purchase the pattern and work my way up to it.So one day after being in a sewing slump for a while I decided to pull this pattern out and give it a try. I had already picked up this gorgeous royal blue lycra knit from Hancock off the flat fold table. The only problem was I only had 2.5 yds of fabric and View A required 3yds. For some reason I can usually place my pattern pieces in a way that saves space and this time thankfully was one of those times.All in all I felt this was a simple sew. Though there was some pleating and gathering at the sleeve it helped that there was not that many pieces. Time was saved by adding the sleeve bands instead of hemming. And, possibly because I was warned, I was not confused by the back collar instructions.
