McCalls 7366: Angola Print Jumpsuit

I made this outfit several months ago to wear to Beyonce's Formation Tour but never got around to posting it. In a few weeks Beyonce will be back in town and that reminded me that I never shared this outfit. And that I need to be working on the next one.This was one of those last minute creations. Fellow procrastinators you know what I'm talking about! I wanted to make something to wear to the concert, but I had been busy and uninspired and had resigned I would wear something RTW. A few days before the show I received a box of Ankara scraps from my sewsista (thanks RobertsWife!). In the box was this red, white, yellow and black Angola fabric that I had be eyeing for quite some time. Thankfully there was just enough fabric to create McCalls 7366, View A with some creative pattern placement.I started this the night before the concert and finished it the next morning. The good thing for you is this means it's a pretty quick sew. The trickiest thing was attaching the collar to the bodice pieces, but as long as you mark the pattern pieces properly even that isn't difficult. I did make my standard Big Booty Adjustment by adding 1" to the back crotch length. Additionally I also sewed up the front bodice pieces up an extra inch at the center just sew the bodice would be open all the way to the waist. For modesty the center seam could be sew up higher to shorten the opening. Another option would be to wear a bandeau bra top and keep the opening. I'd also recommend basting the bodice pieces to the bottoms to test the fit. I could and should have taken out about an 1" at the bottom of the front and back bodice pieces before attaching to the shorts to reduce the slack.It came together so quickly that I decided to make one more (before the show) just so I had options. I had been envisioning a tuxedo jumpsuit for some time and this pattern was perfect for a classic white bodice, black pants pairing.I used a white lycra knit for the bodice, white tricot for the bodice lining and black matte jersey for the pants. This version is a size smaller since I was working with knits. I omitted the zipper since I was able to slip the pants on without installing one, but everything else was the same as the first version. The length of the pants could be about an 1" longer as well. I'm only and 5'5" and I feel they are borderline too short.I love both jumpsuits, but I ended up wearing the Angola shorts version to the concert. I still haven't found a reason to wear my tuxedo jumpsuit, but I will!!!Pattern: McCalls 7366Pattern Description: Rompers and jumpsuits have lined bodice variations, shorts and tapered pants (semi-fitted through hips), side-front pockets, and back zipper. YesLikes: I like the dramatic bodice and tapered fit of the shorts/pants.Dislikes: The plunging neckline limits where this outfit can be worn, but this can be modified by sewing up the center front higher than instructed.Pattern alterations or any design changes made: Added 1" to crotch back seam, omitted zipper in knit version.Would I sew it again?
