SNEAK PEAK: Stained Glass Crossroads Dress

This pattern offers two styles; a unique crossroads front and a solid front. Both styles feature the option to be a top, short tunic, dress and maxi dress. In addition to those 8 options there are 4 sleeve lengths; sleeveless, short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve and full sleeve. That's 24 different possibilities from just one pattern! This pattern can be used year round, just adjust your fabric weight and sleeve length and you can go from summer to winter.I sewed up the short sleeve solid dress (View G) in this knit I've been hoarding long enough to have forgotten what project I originally purchased it for. Thankfully I had two yards and that was the right amount to make this dress view. I sewed a size 10 for Miss Socialite, who is going on 10, and the fit was great. The only issue was the length, this dress hits her lower than the sketch for this view illustrates. However, both of my (step)kids are below average height so keep that in mind. Obviously you'd rather have it too long than not long enough. I haven't decided whether I will shorten the dress or by how much.The only other thing I would point out is the neckline, I had never attached a neckline as it was instructed in this pattern. The neckline is bound and the instrutions are clear. If by chance they are not clear to you, Ajaire has provide a video tutorial on how to sew a bound neckline.I definitely have plans to sew up some more views of this pattern. Views A through D feature a unique cut out design at the center front that is pieced together using french seams to create both an opportunity for colorblocking and a bit of texture to the bodice. Views E through H have a solid front piece and will quickly become your go to staple pattern for a quick sew to feature all those fun fabrics out there.
