Striped Comfy Dress - Butterick 6207
One of my goals for 2019; to go along with the typical ones of eat better, be more active, lose weight, save more, plan less, do more, stay organized; is to sew more basics. Y'all know I love to sew dresses and jumpsuits. While I do wear them the often I tend to neglect work separates and weekend chill looks. This is recent make falls into the later category. Yes it's still a dress, but it's the kind you throw on with sneakers and head to the grocery store or Target. Butterick 6207 is indeed as a fast and easy sew as the pattern states. If you've sewn a raglan tee you can easily whip up this dress. Each view is pretty simple but view C has a unique sleeve feature which I would love to try with two solid knits.I sewed view B but I lengthened the sleeves by about 5-6" for more of an elbow length sleeve. Sadly I didn't have enough of this striped french terry for the sleeves of view C. This french terry has been in my stash for years. It was in a mystery fashion bundle from Fabric Mart Fabrics (order your own here). I haven't known what to do with it all this time, but I suppose the models striped look finally spoke to me.
I'm pleased with how it turned out. Especially because I think I could get away with wearing it as a tunic over leggings or jeggings on colder days (like we've been having recently)Pattern: Butterick 6207Pattern Description: Pullover top and dress have raglan sleeves, scoop neckline, neck band, and shaped hemline, wrong side shows.
