New Sewcial Network: Topstitch Makers
I know many of us are sheltering-in-place right now. If you are missing sewcializing with your sewing friends now would be a good time to join the newly created TopStitch Makers Sewcial Network. The TopStitch Makers network works similarly to Facebook, but unlike Facebook this is onlyfor sewists. Which is why I love it! Also it seems a bit more organized because it was created for this purpose. There's also an app so you can connect with other sewists on the go.
You have several ways to explore the network.
Topics
This makes it easy to create filters so that you only see the types of posts you'll be interested in. If your a beginner follow the Beginners topic so you don't miss any tutorials or great beginner patterns. Do you love following others during the process of sewing? If so follow the WIP (work in progress) group. Gadget junkie, follow the Tools topic. Believe me there's a topic (or more likely several) that will interest you.
Groups
Groups allow you to be in a community with other sewist with like interests. I have a TipStitched group that focuses on modern women apparel sewing.I also started a Mini Me group for parents who sew for themselves and kids or furbabies. There are groups for pattern makers, sewing memes, lingerie, upcycling, fabric designers, men sewists and more.Anyone can start a group and grow a following! So what are you interested in.
Discover
Discovery is the page you want if you just want an overview of everything that is going on in the network. It gives you a quick recap of the top posts, members near you, topics, top members, upcoming events, top groups and top course.
Just thought I'd share! This is a subscription service for $4.99/mo, but the first month is free so why not at least check it out. Join HERE.Full disclosure I am a VIP member (which means I don't pay the service fee), but I truly enjoy this network. I prefer it to Facebook groups as it's easier to pick and choose the information I see. Also often paid communities offer more quality content than free services because the members are more dedicated to the topic.
