How to Find a Sewing Class
Online
The internet and social media have made online instruction possibly the easiest way to learn to sew. It’s the method I used, my first project was Mimi G’s 30 minute pencil skirt. (It turned out pretty bad, but I stuck with it). Videos provide visuals with verbal instruction and the ability to rewatch any part that seems confusing. The only drawback, to some, is the lack of actual feedback. The inability to ask a question or receive confirmation can certain be an issue, but many beginner videos are free and a good way to see if you like sewing. Find the right instructor that teaches in a way you can receive is vital so watch different people illustrate the same skill.

*Tip: search the make and model of your machine on YouTube to find specific instruction on how to thread or troubleshoot your machine.
In Person
If you believe you need live feedback and demonstrations in person classes are the way to go. This is definitely going to come at a cost. Group classes are cheaper that one on one, but choose the options that will work better for you. It’s hard to give recommendations here, but I can point you in the right direction.
