Essential Summer Tank :Street Style Curved Hem Tank
I am always in need of more tops! One piece outfits lure me with their ease, which is why you'll find me dresses and jumpsuits 75% of the time (especially in the spring and summer). Still I need separates for that remain 25% of the time and I never have enough of them.So when Street Style Patterns reached out to me to try out their newly launched womens line I selected this staple summer piece, a racerback tank. Street Style Patterns is a relatively new pattern company created by the same team behind Brindille & Twig childrens patterns. They currently have 13 patterns, including a FREE Leggings pattern. Their collections is comprised of wardrobe staples like this curved hem tank, a bomber jacket, a crew tee, a t-shirt dress, lounge pants and more. The Curved Hem Tank has a wider racerback style that is helpful in covering up bra or bralette straps. You'll still need to wear a racerback style of bra but you don't have to worry about your straps peeking out throughout the day. The curve hem is also extremely flattering and I love that it's cut a little longer for more coverage.I'm wearing it here with jeans but it would look equally cute with shorts or capris. I plan to whip up a couple out of an athletic knit as the length would be great as a work out top to wear over leggings. I could even see extending the hem to make this a cute summer tank dress.I used this camouflage print jersey knit from LA Finch Fabrics that I had left over from another to project. I love it because it is so soft and has great stretch. Based on the size chart I graded from a XL shoulder and bust and XXL hip and I think the fit was good. Due to the stretchiness of this knit I think I could've went with a straight XL or a L/XL.The instructions were very clear and instead of illustrations the instructions are accompanied by real photos, which you may love. The tank itself if very simple and if you've sewn a tank before you won't even need them. I'll mention that the hem bands were a perfect length, I've found that (mostly in commercial patterns) the hem bands are often to long. Hem bands needs to be stretched in order to result in a flat installations so I appreciated that.Pattern: Street Style Patterns Curved Hem TankPattern Description: perfect layering piece, wear it out with a sweatshirt on top, underneath a tee or just on it's own!
