I always try to support black pattern makers and black businesses in general, but February is a great month to double down on support.

Black Pattern Designers

Black Owned Fabric Stores

• Zesty Couture - Offers traditional African print cotton fabric, printed knits, kampala and silk adaire fabrics. They also offer garments from dresses, to tees, to scarves.

• Melanated Fabrics - co-owned by Brittany J Jones. An online and brick and mortar store that offers everything from mesh to wool fabrics, patterns and notions.

• Tess World Designs - African print cotton, knit and lace, mud cloth, kente and dashiki fabrics. Also offers dashikis and head wraps.
